Congratulations to Chaarulatha Rajesh for being announced as April 2025 Senior of the Month.
We are pleased to announce that Chaarulatha Rajesh has been named the April Senior of the Month. Since freshman year, Chaarulatha has immersed herself into the culture of Schaumburg High School demonstrating leadership and a compassion to help others.
Chaarulatha has demonstrated leadership at Schaumburg High School by being on the Principal’s Advisory Board, a member of our Class Clubs, the Student Equity Team and Student Council. Outside of school, Chaarulatha has volunteered all four years by tutoring with Schoolhouse.world and was recognized as one of the top 20% of all volunteers in the agency. In addition, she volunteers at her Taekwondo studio and in the emergency department of Northwestern Medicine Central Dupage Hospital. When Chaarulatha is not giving to others, she dedicates her time to her studies and her rigorous course schedule. Chaarulatha has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar, an Academic Scholar, an AP Scholar, and an AP Scholar with Distinction. She has also earned her AP Capstone Diploma, Seal of Biliteracy (Spanish), and been recognized as an Illinois State Scholar.
Within the classroom, Chaarulatha has demonstrated a unique blend of intellectual curiosity, discipline, and an eagerness to explore academia. Chaarulatha is an academic in every sense of the word. Her interests span both the sciences and the humanities, and she has an impressive ability to see the balance between them. Whether she is analyzing a literary text or diving into a scientific concept, she approaches each subject with a depth of understanding that is rare. Her ability to draw connections between scientific principles and literary themes sets her apart as a student who sees the world in a nuanced and interconnected way. Her writing is always thoughtful, insightful, and indicative of her multidisciplinary interests, often blending creative expression with analytical rigor.
Next year, Chaarulatha plans on attending Purdue University and majoring in biomedical engineering. She is also considering a double major in computer science. Her goal is to pursue a Master’s Degree in biotechnology and engage in research and development after she graduates college.
We are so proud of Chaarulatha and all she has accomplished during her four years at SHS. We wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors.
