Course Placement Procedures
Incoming freshmen are placed into levels of English, math, and science courses for 9th grade based upon a review of multiple factors including:
• Course participation in junior high school
• Performance on academic assessments (as needed)
• Recommendations from current 8th-grade teachersThe Class of 2025 will not participate in placement testing.
Teacher recommendations will be collected in December and placement decisions will be provided to parents in January.
Depending on course placement, some students will be identified for participation in the Incoming Freshmen Academy math and reading summer school program.
Questions about course placement can be directed to the student services director at the high school your child will attend.
