All school-issued iPads have web filtering to ensure safe educational use by blocking inappropriate or non-educational websites, both on and off campus.Social Media
To support learning and keep students safe, social media apps and websites (like TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.) are blocked on all district-managed networks.Internet Use
Internet use is a shared responsibility among students, parents, and District staff. Students can access online resources via school Wi-Fi and devices, but must avoid sharing personal information on platforms. All activities on District networks may be monitored with no expectation of privacy.

Artificial Intelligence
Students in District 211 are permitted to use ChatGPT as an AI tool to enhance learning with teacher approval. AI can assist with brainstorming, writing revisions, and idea exploration, which are valuable skills for future college and career success. Ethical and effective use of AI is essential for academic integrity and personal learning ownership. All AI applications must comply with school rules. Responsible use fosters critical thinking and ethical technology usage.

Cyberbullying is prohibited in schools. Students are not allowed to use personal or District devices to capture or share images, audio, or video of others without their consent, especially if it may cause harm or embarrassment. Sharing discriminatory, threatening, or harmful content is also banned. Sending mean or harassing messages, even if intended as a joke, can lead to disciplinary or legal action. To report bullying, students can fill out a Report Bullying Form on their iPads, inform an adult, or contact an administrator or school resource officer.

App Availability and App Restrictions
Student iPads are managed for app availability through the Self Service app, allowing access to approved educational apps at any time. Students can download the apps anytime. Additional restrictions can be managed through Screen Time, and any necessary changes should be communicated to the administrator to avoid curricular impacts.
